The practice

MYSORE

The Mysore or personal-practice is a method that puts the student in relation to himself. Traditionally we practice six days a week, preferably early in the morning, with the exception of moon days and a weekly rest day (Sunday).

In a class in Mysore the students practice in groups a sequence of progressive fixed postures which they learn by heart, in order to be able to repeat it without being directly directed by the teacher, who is limited to correcting, adjusting and giving them new postures when he thinks they are ready. This makes it possible to build an autonomous practice, where each student continues their learning at their own speed and progresses in an individualized way.

Although it can be difficult at first to memorize the order of the postures and also frightening to be alone with yourself, the Mysore class is accessible to all, beginners included and welcome. The length of the practice can vary between 30-40 minutes up to 1 hour 45 minutes. It is recommended to start with about 30 minutes to make it easier to memorize the series and learn step by step.

GUIDED CLASS

In the guided class the student follows the teacher's Sanskrit count which links each breath to the correct movement, thereby teaching him how to simultaneously and correctly set up movements, breath and gaze. It is useful for memorizing the correct Vinyasa in order to be able to deepen one's own practice of Mysore. It is more interesting to have a little experience to be able to really enjoy this class. It lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
